Rising damp is a result of capillary action, where moisture from the ground can rise up within the walls and mortar beds up to approximately one metre above ground level, and the symptoms of which can be a problem in both dry
and wet conditions. It’s important to include a DPC positioned beneath the door sill and at least two courses above the ground level.
Please try and avoid debris falling down the cavity when work is being carried out, as this can cause the DPC to be bridged.
